Enhancing Cement Facade Durability: Waterproofing with Polypropylene Mesh Guide

In cement façade insulation, using polypropylene mesh and reinforcement along with nano-additives like Maxilrad is one of the best methods to increase durability and prevent cracks in the façade. This technique creates protective layers, preventing water penetration and environmental damage to the structure, significantly extending the building's lifespan.

Steps for Waterproofing Cement Walls with Maxilrad and Polypropylene Mesh

Surface Preparation:

Applying the Base Coat: If the cement wall doesn't have a base coat, you must first apply a cement base layer. Mix sand, stone powder, cement, and the Maxilrad nano-additive with an appropriate amount of water, then fully coat the wall surface.
Installing Polypropylene Mesh: After the base coat has dried, install the polypropylene mesh on the wall surface. Ensure that the mesh is completely adhered to the wall, with at least a 3 cm overlap between layers.

Waterproofing with Maxilrad:

Mixing the Materials: In a bucket, combine four parts Maxilrad nano-additive with four parts cement (either black or white), and mix thoroughly until a uniform mixture is obtained.
Applying with a Brush: Apply the mixture in an absorptive manner over the polypropylene mesh in several layers. Make sure the materials penetrate well into the surface and the mesh for complete insulation.
Repeating the Process: This step should be repeated three to four times. Ensure each layer is applied after the previous one has fully dried.

Waterproofing Without Using Polypropylene Mesh:

Slurry Application: After preparing the surface and allowing the cement base coat to dry, mix Maxilrad with water and cement to create a thin slurry.
Brush Application: Apply this slurry absorbently to the wall surface. Repeat this process in two to three stages, allowing each layer to dry completely before applying the next.

Key Point:

In both methods, ensure that the layers applied on the surface are not too thick or non-absorptive, as this can lead to cracking and separation of the layer from the surface. For the best results, perform the brush application with care and precision.
By using the Maxilrad nano-additive and proper waterproofing techniques, you can protect your building’s cement façade from water penetration and environmental damage, significantly extending its lifespan.
